, a major global payment brand, and its international subsidiary JCB International announced that it is sponsoring the Royal Trophy The Royal Trophy is a men's professional team golf tournament which was played for the first time in January 2006 at the Amata Spring Country Club in Bangkok, Thailand. The competitors are Europe and Asia.  2007 Golf Championship, bringing together some of the greatest golf players from Europe and Asia to compete in Bangkok Thailand from January 12 to 14, 2007.

The Royal Trophy is organized by the Hong Kong-based Entertainment Group Limited to give the best European and Asian players an unparalleled opportunity to play against each other. The Royal Trophy Europe vs Asia Golf Championship was first held in 2006, and is scheduled to be held annually in Thailand until 2010. The Asian and European teams, each composed of a captain and eight players, compete for three days of exciting matches over the course of the championship.

The first Royal Trophy championship was held in January 2006, with the Asian team led by captain Masahiro Kuramoto Masahiro "Massy" Kuramoto (born 9 September 1955) is a Japanese golfer.

Kuramoto was born in Hiroshima. He turned professional in 1981. He has won 30 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour, ranking fifth on the career list.
 from Japan, and featuring eight players from five countries in Asia, including Keiichiro Fukabori and Yasuharu Imano from Japan, S. K. Ho from Korea, and Thongchai Jaidee Thongchai Jaidee (Thai ธงชัย ใจดี, born November 8 1969) is a Thai golfer who plays on the Asian Tour and the European Tour.

Thongchai didn't play golf until he was sixteen, and he later went into the Royal Thai Army.

The 2007 Asia team will be led by Naomichi Joe Ozaki from Japan, with members Toru Taniguchi Toru Taniguchi (born 10 February 1968) is a Japanese golfer.

Taniguchi was born in Nara. He has won 14 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour (ranks tied 13th on the career victories list), topped the money list in 2002, and is eighth on the career money list.

 also from Japan, S. K. Ho and Y. E. Yang from Korea, Thongchai Jaidee, Thaworn Wiratchant Thaworn Wiratchant (born December 28, 1966) is a Thai professional golfer. He has won nine events on the Asian Tour which is more than any other player.[1] , and Prom Meesawat from Thailand, and Jeev Milkha Singh Jeev Milkha Singh (born 15 December 1971) was the first Indian golfer to become a member of the European Tour. Jeev is the highest ranked Indian golfer in the world, breaking into the top 100 in October 2006. He is the son of the famous Indian athlete Milkha Singh.  from India. Seve Ballesteros once again heads up this year's European team, with members Darren Clarke from North Ireland, Anthony Wall and Lee Westwood from England, Henrik Stenson, Robert Karlsson, Johan Edfors, and Niclas Fasth from Sweden, and Paul McGinley from Ireland.
