JBoss and Sun Microsystems Expand Collaboration on Standards.

) announced today that they have expanded their collaboration on standards through a new multi-year agreement for JBoss to support the Java 2, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) platform. The agreement is the latest cooperative development between the two companies.

JBoss Application Server (or JBoss AS) is a free software / open source Java EE-based application server. Because it is Java-based, JBoss AS is cross-platform, usable on any operating system that Java supports.

This agreement underscores JBoss' ongoing commitment to the J2EE platform.
