JBoss Teams with Librados to Bring the Benefits of Real-Time Integration to the Most Popular Java-Based Open Source Application Server

JBoss Group LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

LLC - Logical Link Control
, provider of the most popular Java-based application server, today announced a co-marketing agreement with Librados Inc., a provider of J2EE-standards based application integration software. Under the agreement, Librados has joined the JBoss Preferred Affiliates(TM) Program. JBoss achieved more than 2 million downloads in 2002 alone, making it the industry's fastest-growing Java application server.

Through the partnership, using the Librados Enterprise Integration Component Server (EICS EICS European Internet Chess Server

It includes Sun's Java Security API as well as the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE), which adds more programming interfaces for encryption  Adapters, Java developers can perform simple or complex application integration quickly and easily from the JBoss server or a web server environment. Librados is driving down the cost of application integration by offering either royalty-free source code to independent software vendors (ISVs) or extremely low-cost software to customers with its pure J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) A platform from Sun for building distributed enterprise applications. J2EE services are performed in the middle tier between the user's machine and the enterprise's databases and legacy information systems.  product offering on JBoss.

Marc Fleury, founder of JBoss.org and president of JBoss Group, said: "Librados' suite of application integration products will allow Java developers to extend and expose backend functionality to the JBoss server or XML XML

and web services environments. Pairing Librados' sophisticated real-time integration software with our stable, scalable, application server, is a powerful, cost-effective combination for Java developers requiring a flexible, standards-based approach for web-enabling applications."

JBoss is a Java-based open source application server with support for J2EE. This enables rapid porting of J2EE-based applications to the free JBoss server. It is the most popular Java-based application server in use today and is on track to reach three million downloads in 2003.

"Many customers have saved money by using the JBoss application server For the JBoss company itself, see .

, and now they no longer have to spend it on application integration," said Librados' CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "This partnership gives customers and ISVs a low-cost, royalty-free application integration package. Librados and JBoss will continue to drive the high cost out of middleware."

"Although open source for complex integration middleware is still unproven, it is natural that open source application servers follow the same evolutionary path as mainstream application servers and begin to include integration features," said Benoit J. Lheureux, Research Director, Infrastructure and Architecture Group, Gartner. "We have long predicted the gradual commoditization Commoditization
