JBoss Extends Solution Certification to Customer Applications; Testing Methodology and Toolkit Improve Quality of Enterprise Applications and Facilitate Transition from Development to Production Environments.

ATLANTA -- JBoss(R), Inc., the Professional Open Source company, today extended the JBoss Solution Certification Program to customers building applications on the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Software that functions as a conversion or translation layer. It is also a consolidator and integrator. Custom-programmed middleware solutions have been developed for decades to enable one application to communicate with another that either runs on a different platform or comes from a  Suite (JEMS JEMS Journal of Emergency Medical Services

(TM)). Enterprises can now take advantage of the same package of industry-validated testing tools and methodology that JBoss partners have been employing to certify their solutions on JEMS. Certification ensures applications seamlessly integrate with the JEMS platform and are tuned for optimum performance in customer environments.

With over nine million downloads, JEMS is the leading open source platform for service-oriented architecture See SOA.  (SOA (1) (Start Of Authority) The first record in a DNS zone file. See DNS records.

) and the foundation for hundreds of mission-critical enterprise applications. Now, JBoss customers can integrate the JBoss certification toolkit into their quality assurance (QA) process to optimize the performance and quality of their JEMS-based applications. JBoss customers can certify that their applications integrate with JEMS technologies through a process that includes standard JBoss unit tests, customizable product implementation tests, performance snapshots and expert analysis by JBoss engineering resources. If, for example, a customer upgrades an application or adds a new server, they can leverage the test suite to validate their integration with JEMS before it is rolled out into production.

"Our announcements today, from JBoss Portal 2.4 to JBoss Operations Network 1.2, to certifying customer applications, reflect JBoss' support for customers across the entire application lifecycle," said Rich Friedman, director of product management for JBoss, Inc. "Solution certification supports the testing and integration phase and offers our customers access to a valuable test suite that is packaged to easily integrate into their development environment and a methodology that has proven to be very beneficial for our partners."

"Having access to JBoss certification resources and expertise enables us to validate our applications earlier in the development cycle," said Joe LaFeir, vice president of product development, RLPTechnologies. "Time to market is critical, and there is a ripple effect ripple effect Epidemiology See Signal event.  that begins with the quality of applications available to our employees. The sooner we are able to provide them with high quality applications, the sooner they are able to turnaround customer-focused projects."

Through the JBoss Solution Certification Program, JBoss customers have access to self-certification tools that integrate thousands of JBoss unit tests and JBoss consulting resources that evaluate test results and provide complete assessments of feature configuration, tuning and performance information.
