Aplix Corporation, the global leader in deploying Java(TM) technology in mobile phones, announced today that its JBlend(TM) platform has begun shipping in the European market on a mobile phone for the first time. JBlend technology is incorporated in the recently-announced Sharp Corporation GX10 GSM/GPRS camera phone, which is one of the first mobile phones being sold by Vodafone across Europe for its new Vodafone live! offering.

JBlend technology has enjoyed unparalleled success in the Japanese market and is the most deployed Java execution environment for mobile phones throughout the world, having been incorporated into 33 wireless handset models from 11 different manufacturers to date. In August this year, Aplix announced that JBlend technology was shipping in more than 10 million units of mobile phones and home electronics devices, including mini disc camcorders, digital photo printers, digital image albums, and High Definition Televisions (HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture.
