 (V-Systems Inc.) today announced the latest version of VSI-FAX 4.1. Available immediately from JBSi, VSI-FAX 4.1 offers a thin-client fax solution for Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Citrix MetaFrame as well as support for SCO's Tarantella tarantella (târ`əntĕl`ə), Neapolitan folk dance that first appeared in Taranto, Italy, in the 17th cent. It had rapid 6–8 meter with an increasing tempo and was thought to cure the bite of the tarantula, which supposedly  and UnixWare 7 NonStop Clustering software technologies.

New VSI-FAX 4.1 provides enterprise-scale management tools and seamless integration with server-based applications. It empowers administrators to easily manage, deploy and update client software from a central location. Moreover, it extends access of fax-enabled applications to divergent hardware users, independent of hardware connection or location. VSI-FAX is a complete thin-client fax solution that simplifies IT responsibilities while reducing business costs.

VSI-FAX 4.1 Key Features

All VSI-FAX 4.1 clients support Windows Terminal Server An option in Windows NT and 2000 that enables an application to be run simultaneously by multiple users at different Windows PCs. In NT, it is known as the Terminal Server Edition. , Windows 2000 Terminal Services and Citrix MetaFrame. Also, VSI-FAX servers running on the SCO (The SCO Group, Lindon, UT, www.sco.com) A leading vendor of Unix operating systems for the x86 platform. SCO had also offered Linux, but abandoned the line in the spring of 2003. The SCO Group is the combination of two companies: Utah-based Caldera, Inc.  platform automatically support SCO's Tarantella and NonStop Clustering Technologies.

New VSI-FAX Universal Fax Client -- The VSI Universal Fax Client provides users with the ability to send, receive, obtain status and manage faxes from most Java enabled platforms. The Universal Fax Client gives users the flexibility and ease of deployment of a server-based program and the power of a local Java application. Included is support for both public and private directories, print-to-fax, LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) A protocol used to access a directory listing. LDAP support is implemented in Web browsers and e-mail programs, which can query an LDAP-compliant directory.  support, local and server-side file attachments. The VSI Universal Fax Client also delivers on the promise of centralized management and effortless deployment. Once installed, it is self-updating.

Enhanced VSI Outlook Fax Client -- New in the VSI-FAX 4.1 Outlook Fax Client is the ability to edit and save user profiles. Users can also print-to-fax, attach files to faxes and send to both e-mail and fax recipients with a single mouse click. VSI Outlook Fax Client enables users to intuitively manage all fax communications directly from Outlook, alleviating the need for users to switch applications to send a fax.

VSI Web Fax Client -- The VSI Web Fax Client is a browser-based client that enables users to send and receive faxes via Microsoft Internet Explorer See Internet Explorer.  (4.0 or higher). The VSI Web Fax Client offers support for both public and private directories, Print-to-Fax from any application, as well as support for local and server-side file attachments. The VSI Web Fax Client also delivers the convenience of Web-based deployment -- there's nothing to install on the client beyond the optional print driver.

Improved Integration Tools -- With the release of VSI-FAX 4.1, users will get the new Outbox An area in memory or on the disk that holds messages or files that have not yet been sent to their destination.
