CANYON COUNTRY - The jazz ensemble and women's choir at Golden Valley High School will be joined by some of the top jazz talent around for three upcoming concerts.

The first of the Winter Blues concerts will feature jazz trumpeter Rob Walker on Feb. 24. Walker has shared the stage with such artists as Wayne Newton Carson Wayne Newton (born April 3, 1942, in Roanoke, Virginia) is an American singer and entertainer based in Las Vegas, Nevada. He performed over 30,000 solo shows in Las Vegas over a period of over 40 years, earning him the nickname Mr. Las Vegas. , Ray Charles For the composer and conductor of the Ray Charles Singers, see .

There are many different ways to go about describing Jazz improvisation.

Appearing Feb. 26 will be this year's winner of the Jazzconnect.com fourth annual jazz competition, bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb. Born and raised in Montana, Korb grew up in a musical family and often presents concerts with her three younger brothers. She was recently listed by San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  Magazine as one of its 50 people to watch.

All Winter Blues concerts include dinner at 6:30 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Golden Valley High School, 27051 Robert E. Lee Parkway, Canyon Country. The $35 ticket donation will help Golden Valley buy marching band uniforms and other equipment needed for the new high school.
