JAMES E. PRESS NAMED PRESIDENT OF TOYOTA AVIATION INC. TORRANCE, Calif., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The appointment of James
E. Press as president of Toyota Aviation Inc. (TAI) was announced today by Yuki Togo, president of TAI's parent company, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A. Inc.
Press has been senior vice president and assistant general manager of Southeast Toyota (SET) Inc., one of two private U.S. distributors of Toyota vehicles, since September 1989. Press joined TMS in April 1970, after two years with Ford Motor Co. He worked in a variety of assignments at TMS headquarters including the service, marketing, product planning, market representation, advertising and distribution departments. In 1986, he was named general manger of the San Francisco sales region. From 1987 until leaving to join SET, Press ran the Cincinnati region. In his new role, Press will oversee Toyota's burgeoning aviation operations which include sales and service of general aircraft from AirFlite, a fixed-base operation in Long Beach, Calif. TAI's headquarters will be located at the same facility as AirFlite when a $10 million expansion is completed. Press has a bachelor of science in business administration from Kansas State College.
