17th TTG Annual Travel Awards 2006

Between July 2006 and August 2006, travel agents, tour operators and destination management companies in the Asia-Pacific were invited by TTG to select the "top performers" in the travel industry over the year for the 17th TTG Annual Travel Awards 2006. Over 7,800 travel professionals registered their votes online or completed printed questionnaires, which appeared in such publications as TTG Asia and TTG China.

 JAL the 'Best North Asian Airline&: the best airline based in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau or Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  operating Asia-Pacific routes. Voters were asked to make their decision based on listed criteria, such as which airline in the region they deemed provided the best service and network; was the most agent-friendly in terms of reservations; and had the most professional sales and marketing teams in terms of innovative ideas, and servicing.

Established in 1989, the awards are organized annually by TTG Asia, which has been providing news to the travel trade in Asia for over 30 years.

Conde Nast Traveler 9th Annual Business Travel Awards 2006

Also this year, JAL's business class service was voted one of the best on trans-pacific routes by readers of Conde Nast Traveler, in the travel magazine's 9th Annual Business Travel Awards 2006.

In a poll of around 2,000 readers identified as frequent business travelers, JAL's business class - JAL Executive Class - received high marks across the board, in particular for the comfort of its seating, and the quality of its cabin service, cuisine and in-flight entertainment In-flight entertainment (IFE) refers to the entertainment available to aircraft passengers during a flight. After World War II commercial aviation flights became a daily event in which entertainment was requested by passengers to help the time pass. .

Started in 1987, Conde Nast Traveler specializes in travel, principally for tourism, but also for business travelers.
