 JACOBS TO DESIGN WORLD SCALE UREA PLANT FOR BULGARIA
 SOMERSET, N.J., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group


Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it is providing engineering, procurement, and construction assistance services to CHIMCO for a 2,000 metric ton per day (MTPD) Urea synthesis plant to be installed in Vratza, Bulgaria.
 Jacobs scope of work is valued at $33 million.
 Work for this project is currently underway at Jacobs Somerset office.
 According to W.R. Kerler, Jacobs group vice president, this is one of the largest, single train Urea Synthesis plants in the world. The unit will replace six smaller units currently on site.
 Urea is predominantly used as a nitrogen-based fertilizer. Most of the new plant's capacity is committed for export to Southeast Asia and China.
 "CHIMCO is an innovative company that is bringing Western technology into Bulgaria," said Kerler. CHIMCO is committed to a modernization program using Western technologies. Their main goals are to solve ecological problems and reduce power consumption," he noted.
 Feed for this unit is coming from existing ammonia and carbon dioxide production units at the Vratza site.
 Urea Technologies Incorporated of Hackensack, N.J., is providing the licensed technology for the new facility.
