:JEC) announced today that it has received formal direction from the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) to proceed with contaminated groundwater remediation at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR MMR measles-mumps-rubella (vaccine); see measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine live, under vaccine.

Under the Delivery Order, Jacobs will play a key role in carrying out the Air Force's Comprehensive Plume Containment Plan. The overall goal of the plan is to treat groundwater contaminated by past hazardous waste disposal practices at the MMR, thereby preventing the spread of contamination. Jacobs will carry out groundwater restoration plans, monitor groundwater quality, and conduct studies to define the nature and extent of contamination more completely.

The award enables Jacobs to continue serving as one of AFCEE's largest remedial action contractors. Jacobs began providing environmental engineering and design services to AFCEE in 1989 when the company was awarded its first Installation Restoration Program (IRP See Interest rate parity line. ) contract.

- A nationwide full service Remedial Action Contract (RAC).

- Castle AFB, Calif., Base Realignment and Closure Base Realignment and Closure (or BRAC) is a process of the United States federal government directed at the administration and operation of the Armed Forces, used by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) and Congress to close excess military installations and realign  (BRAC).

- Chanute AFB, Ill. (BRAC).

The MMR Delivery Order is part of the full service RAC.

Sawyer AFB in Mich.; Whiteman AFB in Mo.; Pope AFB in N.C.; MacDill AFB in Fla.; Air Force Plant IV in Texas; Hickam AFB in Hawaii; Anderson AFB in Guam; and Eareckson Air Station Eareckson Air Station (IATA: SYA, ICAO: PASY) is a military airbase located on the island of Shemya, in the Alaskan Aleutian Islands. It was Shemya Army Air Base during WW II. , Eielson AFB, and various remote sites in Alaska.
