 JACOBS AWARDED MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP PROJECT
 AT DOE'S ROCKY FLATS PLANT
 DENVER, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has been awarded three multiyear contracts from EG&G Rocky Flats Inc. to provide engineering, remediation, waste management, and environmental sampling at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Rocky Flats plant near Golden, Colo. EG&G Rocky Flats is the management and operating contractor for the DOE's Rocky Flats Facility.
 The combined value of the contracts is anticipated to total $60 million. Work will commence immediately and continue for three years under the base contracts.
 Jacobs will perform engineering, physical science, environmental restoration, chemical, and other scientific/technical support for both ongoing and forthcoming remediation and waste management programs at Rocky Flats. As a part of the program, the Jacobs team will provide environmental and waste management sampling support to the facility.
 The company will also perform RCRA and CERCLA related investigations, documentation, and support.
 In making the announcement, Roger L. Williams, senior vice president, federal and environmental programs, noted that Jacobs is one of the DOE's leading environmental and waste management contractors. "We have over 1,000 professionals providing engineering, design and construction services to both the civilian and the military waste management programs, including hazardous, radioactive and mixed wastes," he added.
 The bulk of the work will be performed from Jacobs' Denver office.
 Jacobs was recently selected as a principal subcontractor to participate in the environmental cleanup of the DOE's former uranium production facilities at Fernald, Ohio. Jacobs is supporting DOE on additional major programs, including the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Project, Weldon Spring Site Remediation Action Program and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Program.
