JACOBS APPOINTS ERICH EVERED AS MANAGER OF ALASKA OPERATIONS.DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 1996--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :JEC) announced today that J. Erich Evered has been appointed Manager of Alaska Operations for Jacobs in Anchorage, Alaska. Jacobs is providing engineering, design, procurement, construction, environmental, and remediation services in Alaska. Prior to this current appointment, Mr. Evered was Manager of Operations in Jacobs' Aiken, S.C. office, and earlier a Vice President of FERMCO FERMCO Fernald Environmental Restoration Management Company , the cleanup contractor at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Fernald Site in Ohio (Jacobs is a partner in FERMCO). Mr. Evered comes to his new position with 22 years of experience managing programs and projects for the federal government and private industry. He has managed environmental restoration at the DOE Rocky Flats plant The Rocky Flats Plant was a weapons production facility of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) that operated from 1952 to 1988. It was located near Denver, Colorado in the United States. and off-site radioactive waste radioactive waste, material containing the unusable radioactive byproducts of the scientific, military, and industrial applications of nuclear energy. Since its radioactivity presents a serious health hazard (see radiation sickness), disposing of such material is a disposition at Fernald. During the early 1980s, he was Administrator of the Energy Information Administration at DOE headquarters. Mr. Evered is a Registered Professional Engineer.
