Revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 1999 increased 25% to $222.9 million, compared to revenue of $178.3 million in the first quarter of fiscal 1998. Net income for the quarter was $4.3 million, or $0.04 per diluted di·lute

Since the last earnings release, J.D. Edwards has taken steps to further enhance the company's product line and penetration into its target markets. The company announced Idea to Action(TM), acquired sales engineering automation technology, released additional product functionality, enhanced its focus on vertical industries, and formed strategic business alliances. Significant announcements and milestones achieved since the last earnings release include:

o The launch of a "new era" in application solutions with Idea to

Action. The Idea to Action approach delivers the solutions

organizations need to maintain control of their businesses as

technologies and market environments change. J.D. Edwards drives

Idea to Action with ActivEra(TM), a collection of tools and

technologies that allows companies to change their enterprise

software quickly and easily during and after implementation.

o Acquisition of The Premisys Corporation. The Premisys

Corporation is a provider of sales engineering automation software

which visually illustrates how products are configured con·fig·ure

the AS/400e server, OneWorld processed more than 72,000 business
