J. P. PRICE LUMBER lumber, term for timber that has been cut into boards for use as a building material. The major steps in producing lumber involve logging (the felling and preparation of timber for shipment to sawmills), sawing the logs into boards, grading the boards according to  CO., Monticello, Arkansas Monticello is a city in Drew County, Arkansas, United States. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 9,327.[1] The city is the county seat of Drew CountyGR6. , USA a subsidiary of The Price Companies Inc., has announced construction of a pine sawmill sawmill, installation or facility in which cut logs are sawed into standard-sized boards and timbers. The saws used in such an installation are generally of three types: the circular saw, which consists of a disk with teeth around its edge; the band saw, which  in Monticello. Designed to use approximately 500,000 tons/yr of first and second pine plantation thinnings, the mill will be on line by early summer 2006.
