J. ARMANDO RAMIREZ NAMED HEAD OF MERGER AND ACQUISITIONS, NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION

 CLEVELAND, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation (NYSE: NCC) announced today that J. Armando Ramirez has been named to head National City's merger and acquisition unit. Ramirez succeeds Jeffrey M. Biggar, who has joined National City's trust unit.
 Ramirez, who joined National City as vice president of corporate planning in 1991, has been involved in merger and acquisition analysis and other corporate planning projects.
 A native of Honduras, Ramirez came to the United States to work in Boston in 1984. In 1988, he became assistant vice president, National City Bank, Northwest in Toledo, Ohio. Ramirez was named vice president of the Toledo bank in 1990.
 Ramirez earned an accounting degree in Honduras and master's degrees in accounting and business administration from Bowling Green State University. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Ohio Society of CPAs.
 Ramirez and his family reside in Strongsville, Ohio.
