EZ-Remit(SM) Will Give Low-cost Access to the Industry-leading Remittance Solution Based on Microsoft .NET Technology

J&B Software announced at TAWPI 2003 that EZ-Remit, an Application Service Provider (ASP) service that delivers all of the advantages of TMS Image(TM), the company's flagship product and the industry's leading remittance platform, will be available beginning August 4, 2003.

Organizations will be able to enjoy all of the benefits of using TMS Image, without the upfront costs associated with buying and installing software and servers, plus on-going savings for maintenance and support. Implementation is fast and efficient, and customers will avoid problems associated with maintenance releases and software upgrades.

EZ-Remit is an image-based "capture anywhere - access anywhere" service that uses the Internet as a conduit for document processing and archiving. There is a low, one-time charge for system configuration and site setup and a per-transaction fee.

J&B Software's ASP servers will host the TMS Image application in a highly reliable, secure and scalable data center that has recognition and archive capabilities. Customers will provide the image transport and Internet connection and are responsible for mail opening, capture and encoding.

J&B will use its software, in conjunction with sophisticated Courtesy Amount Recognition (CAR), Legal Amount Recognition (LAR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technologies, to significantly reduce manual data entry. Eliminating tedious data entry dramatically reduces costs and improves cash float. To ensure that customer data remains secure, three levels of security are an inherent part of the EZ-Remit system design and service.

For many years, imaging checks has been an efficient way to reduce handling costs. With a drop in check volumes, an investment in in-house remittance processing will actually increase, not decrease, the cost-per-item processed. EZ-Remit will enable customers to avoid large investments in capital equipment and technology resources, while enabling them to retain control over certain business processes, such as capture and deposit functions.

With EZ-Remit, as volumes decline so does the annual cost of processing. Customers will eliminate many of the fixed costs associated with in-house imaging solutions, replacing them with variable costs based on volume.
