Ixia IxMobile Now Supports GSM-AMR-WB and H.264 for Handset and 3G Gateway Video Telephony Testing

BARCELONA, Spain -- Ixia (Nasdaq:XXIA), a leading, global provider of IP performance test systems, announced today new capabilities of its IxMobile[TM] 3G telephony test solution that allow both wireless handset and media gateway manufacturers to test interoperability with key codecs used in fixed mobile convergence and 3G video telephony applications. Validated to support test cases selected by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and the PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB), IxMobile now adds GSM-AMR-WB and H.264 to its extensive library of supported codecs to help equipment vendors ensure compliance with video telephony requirements and enable service providers to evaluate, validate and configure handsets prior to deployment. Additional functionality introduced to IxMobile includes integrated RF measurements, subjective audio and video media quality metrics to measure network impact on calls.

Test results are customizable to a user-defined level of detail and stored in user-defined areas. Automated reports are generated for the entire test as well as for any failures.
