Iwaki installs biomass boiler.


IWAKI Iwaki (ēwä`kē), city (1990 pop. 355,812), Fukushima prefecture, NE Honshu, Japan, on the Iwaki River. Once a major coal-mining center, Iwaki now relies on other products such as chemicals, petrochemicals, electronics (stereos), and lumber.  INSTALLS BIOMASS BOILER boiler, device for generating steam. It consists of two principal parts: the furnace, which provides heat, usually by burning a fuel, and the boiler proper, a device in which the heat changes water into steam. . Iwaki Daio Paper, Iwaki City, Japan will invest Yen 6 billion (US$ 53 million) to install a new biomass boiler, suspending operations of its slightly smaller oil boiler. Currently the mill has two 60 metric ton/hour boilers: one oil, the other bio-mass.
