Itron Software Will Enable Distribution Asset Management For

Over 900 Circuits

Itron Inc. (Nasdaq:ITRI) said today that implementation of Itron's Distribution Asset Optimization (DAO) software has begun at Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company, pursuant to an agreement signed in February between OG&E and Silicon Energy, which is now part of Itron.

Itron's DAO software solution will enable OG&E to accurately understand and forecast utilization of individual distribution assets covering all of OG&E's 700,000 customers.

As part of an OG&E company initiative to focus on and improve process areas within the utility's business, Silicon Energy (now Itron) began working with OG&E to address the need to more accurately prioritize and scope expansions and upgrades to the transmission and distribution system while improving quality of service and reliability.

The Itron Distribution Asset Optimization (DAO) solution to be implemented at OG&E will be used to:

-- Accurately correlate transformer loading with customer data to

understand and plan for weather risk.

-- Improve area load growth studies through flexible area

definitions and detailed knowledge about load growth trends

including weather risk analysis.

-- Improve planning and protection studies by loading accurate

hourly transformer loads into OG&E's planning model software.

-- Streamline and reduce redundant data entry. Transformer

loading, weather and SCADA data will be loaded directly into

the Itron database. OG&E expects 60% project cycle time

reduction.

-- Improve reliability and reduce operating costs by predicting

likely failures before they occur.
