The stories are episodic; the larger storyline has not yet revealed itself, except in cryptic hints. This graphic novel's effectiveness lies in the bizarre behavior of its characters, which is normal one minute and fueled by spiral-induced madness the next. Uzumaki contains grotesque imagery and profanity ("bitch") and is recommended for graphic novel collections where horror is popular.
