It adds up: eighty-six winners at ABA Marketing Network Ad Awards contest.

Judges presented a total of 86 awards during this year's ABA Marketing Network Ad Awards. The prizes were given during the ABA Marketing Conference in Chicago, Sept 14-16. Twenty-seven Best of the Best awards and 58 Certificates of excellence were handed out.

Overall, this was a good year for the ad awards. Bankers and ad agencies showed an unusual high level of interest in the competition, as evidenced by the record number of more than 500 entries.

Entries were submitted either by advertising agencies or by the financial institutions themselves. Competition categories include ads (print, radio, TV, outdoor and point of sale); brochures, direct mail, annual reports, websites and public relations campaigns produced during 2002.

Judges awarded a Best of Show award to Connelly Partners/CGN for its TV series for Eastern Bank, Boston, entitled "Eastern Bank 2002 TV." A Judges' Special Award was presented to McKinney & Silver for the print series entry, "Do Something Amazing Brand Print Campaign," which was done for First Citizens Bank, Raleigh, N.C.
