LABOR

A court in Nicaragua ruled that Royal Dutch/Shell, Dow Chemical, Del Monte, Dole Foods, Standard Fruit and Occidental Chemical exposed their workers to dangerous chemicals. The court ordered the multinationals to pay a total of $1 billion in damages to nearly 4,000 plaintiffs.
