"We've been working on this for over a year. It's the Lancaster Coffee House's tenth anniversary...I said, `Let's celebrate,'" said Denise M. Hurley. "This is our first annual festival and we had more artists to fill the day than we knew what to do with, especially after we booked Arlo Guthrie," said Dan Torres. "Every artist that we've had, we tell them to treat it like their own living room...and they keep coming back." The folk festival is billed as family-style, with the rural beauty of Lancaster Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground. as the venue. "The gates open at 10 a.m., and we're telling people to get here early and get a tree," said Ms. Syria, who added that people in the general admission area will all have a great view of the stage. A portion of the field will be designated for dancing. "When the Glengarry Bhoys are onstage, people just get up and start dancing, they are that good," said Ms. Syria. "Folks should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, easy-up (tent shelters) no more than 10-by-10 will be allowed, and we have picnic areas, food vendors and an area where the artists' CDs and festival T-shirts will be sold," said Ms. Syria. Music will start at 11 a.m., with Arlo Guthrie playing at 5 p.m. The Lancaster Fairground is located on Route 117. Parking is on site as space allows at $3 in advance, $5 on the day of the event. Motorcycles are welcome. General admission ticket prices are $45 in advance, $50 on the day, $15 for children ages 3 to 10. There is limited VIP seating and parking at $125 per ticket. "The VIPs will be seated right next to the stage, we'll have coffee and Danish for them, and we'll even provide a chair if they want. But if it was me, I'd bring one of those comfortable lawn chairs with a cup holder!" said Ms. Syria. "And you have to tell people about the food vendors that are coming...we have Red Bones of Somerville with their famous pulled pork sandwiches, Hot Apple Buns -cinnamon buns with ice cream, Trolley Dogs veggie tempura Tempura - Language based on temporal logic. There will be a raffle of a guitar that all artists, including Arlo Guthrie, will sign. Raffle tickets will be sold at $5 apiece, with proceeds to benefit the Item Appeal. The winning ticket will be pulled at the end of the concert.
