Take several hard-working, oft-touring but low-budget hip-hop artists, combine their resources and drawing potential, and it adds up to a much bigger deal than they could amass individually. POP NOTES Although some of the artists on the Paid Dues Tour have played the McDonald Theatre before, everyone enjoys a large-scale stage show. It's less of a show than a festival, really, with music for more than eight straight hours. Although their roots lie in Los Angeles and Oakland, the Legends also have fans worldwide. Background and the guys from Atmosphere; Living Legends; Sage Francis Paul "Sage" Francis (born September 11, 1977 in Miami, Florida) is a hip-hop artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. Sage Francis' style blends a varying tone and delivery with subject matter that focuses on intricate sequences of widely varying imagery, metaphors, the occasional ; Brother Ali; Cage; Mr. Lif; Grouch & Eligh; Hangar 18; Blueprint; and Lucky I Am. The show starts at 2 p.m. at the winery, 88324 Vineyard Lane, three miles west of Veneta. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Sister Wives Today, Cozmic Pizza One of the first things Mona Stevens, a member of the Salt Lake City band Sister Wives, wanted to point out was that they are not polygamists. Stevens said they just like to have fun with the name. The all-woman group is a "rockin' blues band" with a live show that will make you a believer that "girls rock." Showtime is 9 p.m. Rebel Voices Saturday, Tsunami Books The Seattle singing duo of Janet Stecher and Susan Lewis have been spreading their messages and songs for 20 years. The two will bring their act, Rebel Voices, to Tsunami Books for an early evening concert Saturday that a news release promises to provoke thought, "prick the conscience" and lift your spirit. Rebel Voices has performed everywhere from concert halls to kindergarten classrooms. Tsunami Books is at 2585 Willamette St., and the show starts at 5 p.m. for a $10 cover. Mitsuki Dazai Sunday, Alton Baker Park Alton Baker Park is located in Eugene, Oregon, United States, near Autzen Stadium. It features duck ponds, bicycle trails, and a dog park, and directly touches the Ferry Street Bridge. The free Koto music and ceremony start at about 8:30 p.m. at the small shelter in Alton Baker Park, 100 Day Island Road. Charlie Hunter Tuesday, WOW Hall A WOW Hall news release points out that the last time Charlie Hunter played Eugene was about a year ago, as part of Bobby Previte's Coalition of the Willing. Hunter is already back with a new album, "Mistico." But that's not surprising; the composer and guitarist has been churning out a new release nearly every year since 1993. "Even in his Blue Note days, when he thought it was important to adhere at least somewhat to the established but unwritten rules of jazz, he wasn't content to be just another guitar virtuoso," his bio says. ` 'Mistico' is Hunter's most ambitious record yet.
