Isuzu Reports Highest May Commercial Vehicle Retail Sales in the Company's History.

American Isuzu Motors Inc. (AIMI) announced its strongest May retail sales month in the company's history, reporting a 20 percent monthly gain over last May and an even better 36 percent year to date increase over last year's record breaking pace.

The popular NPR Diesel led the May sales numbers with 1,586 units sold, pushing the year to date total to 5,743, a 24 percent increase over last year's record pace. The NPR Gas continued to gain in popularity enjoying a 29 percent increase over last year's May sales figures. The new NQR also showed strong sales movement with 217 trucks sold pushing the year to date total to 907 trucks.

Isuzu's latest, the new Class-5 FRR continued to capture new customers by selling a full 30 percent more trucks than the previous model's May `98 figures. The Class 6/7 FSR, FTR, and FVR showed a 112 percent increase over last year's May sales and a 31 percent year to date sales increase.
