Isle of Man Government to Put Mission-Critical Operations on Unisys ES7000 Enterprise Server.

The Isle of Man Government has chosen the Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000, an Intel-based mainframe, as the central system to run the applications for its mission-critical operations, including health and finance, and provide residents with resilient, highly available service.

The Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000, specifically designed for large-scale e-business and mission critical applications, was deemed the best solution based on its high performance and cost efficiency.

The Isle of Man Government wanted to increase the system capacity of its centralized IT function to ensure that its critical applications, including financial routines and payment of social security benefits, were completely resilient. To ensure this continuous operation, the government has purchased two Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000 to run a complete ERP solution.

Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server ES7000 systems combine the cost advantages of Microsoft and Intel technology with the scalability, performance and resilience once available only on large UNIX-based servers and proprietary mainframes.
