Isis and Genzyme close deal on high cholesterol drug.

The two made waves in January when they agreed to give Genzyme exclusive licensing rights to the late-stage cholesterol-lowering drug for an initial $325 million plus $825 million in milestone payments

Under updated terms of the deal, Isis will contribute up to $50 million in additional development funding for mipomersen, bringing Isis' contribution up to $125 million. In exchange for its added contribution, Isis has the opportunity to receive $75 million in milestone payments early.
