Is it tulip time?

Did you know you can make tulips bloom in the winter? Here's how!

What you need:

A shallow bowl or pot with no holes in the
  bottom
Water
Tulip bulbs
Gravel, clean marbles, washed
  seashells, or stones

What you do:

1. Fill the bowl about two-thirds full with the gravel.
2. Set the bulbs on the gravel, pointed ends up.
3. Put gravel around the bulbs. Leave the tops
   showing.
4. Add water up to the base of the bulbs. Keep the
   water at this level.
5. Place the container in a cool place. Roots will
soon appear. The bulbs may move upward as the
   roots grow.
6. When green shoots appear, move the plant to a
sunny spot but not too warm.
