Irrational Games Joins Crave Entertainment's Expanding List of Developers; Crave to Work with the Creators Behind System Shock 2.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2000

Crave Entertainment Crave Entertainment is an American video game company. It was founded in 1997 by Nima Taghavi. Its headquarters is in Newport Beach, California. It is a division of Handleman Corporation, which acquired the company in 2005.  announced today that they have entered into a worldwide publishing agreement with Irrational Games. A first look at Irrational's new title, that will be releasing on a next generation console in 2001, will be revealed behind closed doors at the Crave booth at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in May.

"Our alliance with Irrational Games reinforces Crave's commitment to partnering with extraordinary development studios," said Holly Newman, Executive Vice President of Publishing for Crave Entertainment. "We are looking forward to working with this stellar team on what is sure to be one of the most sought after games of 2001."

Irrational Games was founded in early 1997 with the intent of being a "design first" company dedicated to bringing the next generation of "deep" RPG (Report Program Generator) One of the first program generators designed for business reports, introduced in 1964 by IBM. In 1970, RPG II added enhancements that made it a mainstay programming language for business applications on IBM's System/3x midrange computers.  and strategy games to its fans. Irrational's team members are made up of industry veterans who spearheaded the critically acclaimed game System Shock 2(TM). Ken Levine is a founding member of, and lead designer at 2K Boston, formerly known as Irrational Games. He previously worked at Looking Glass Studios, which he joined in 1995.
