Irkut.


Irkut has announced its co-operation in an international tactical transport aircraft (TTA) programme with Hindustan Aeronautics of India. The Russian company has reported that the project will proceed without government financing and that by the 2015 to 2020 timeframe an 18.5-tonne aircraft will be available with 45 to be acquired by the Indian Air Force and nearly 100 by the Russian market. The feasibility study portion of the project is in its final stages and Irkut informs that the TTA will have a maximum take-off weight of 55 tonnes, a top range of 6000 km, can carry 82 soldiers or 74 paratroopers and its cargo cabin will be almost 3.45 metres wide and 13.85 long without ramp.
