Iristel, Oberthur, VK Corporation Join MobileIGNITE to Accelerate Fixed-Mobile Convergence Market.

MobileIGNITE, the leading industry association fostering collaboration to accelerate fixed-mobile convergence (FMC See fixed mobile convergence. ), today announced that it is showcasing MobileVoIP interoperability at CTIA Wireless and has added three new members, bringing membership to 36 companies: Iristel, Oberthur and VK Corporation.

The new MobileIGNITE members have agreed to support the group's principles of working on open standards-based interoperability and leveraging SIP (Session Initiation Protocol (protocol) Session Initiation Protocol - (SIP) A very simple text-based application-layer control protocol. It creates, modifies, and terminates sessions with one or more participants. Such sessions include Internet telephony and multimedia conferences.

    --  VK Corporation is a leading Korean manufacturer of mobile
        handsets for both GSM and CDMA. The company develops and
        manufactures GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA phones and has been
        developing T-DMB/DVB-H enabled multimedia phones and dual-mode
        3G handsets with WiFi and Wibro connectivity. VK recently
        unveils a variety of devices with thin design and advanced
        convergent functions, and it's sleek design has been highly
        recognized worldwide.
