The Irish, who shot 14-under-par 274 during the second round of districts last week, are one of the favorites this morning at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn. Sheldon shot 589 over two days last year at state to finish four shots ahead of runner-up Tualatin. Phillip Bagdade, the district champion with an 8-under-par 136, was on last year's championship team along with teammates Jack Dukeminier and Trevor Moffitt. Marshfield returns to state for the second year in a row after finishing second at districts. The Marshfield girls are also heading to state for the second year in a row at the 4A girls tournament at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City. The Pirates won the district title with a two-day total of 707 to finish 14 strokes ahead of Thurston, which finished second to advance to state.
