Irish Mirror Comment: Bitter pill for drug barons.

GARDA drug squad detectives owe themselves an extra glass of Christmas cheer.

To be more accurate, hundreds of people they have saved from the scourge of ecstasy should be raising a glass to them.

A lot of hard and dangerous work went into the operation that took 200,000 tablets out of circulation.

Despite proof that the things are killers, they would no doubt have gone down the throats of foolish thrill-seekers and made lots of nasty people rich.

The Gardai and the staunch crusaders against the drugs menace have an uphill struggle.

The growing list of their triumphs is testimony to their dedication.
