Iraqis and democracy.I am glad to see that you're willing to publish a letter that disagrees with you, like the one in your February 20 Letters to the Editor section from Ben Livesay in which he disagrees with your call to remove our troops from Iraq. I, too, have a different view than you about the war in Iraq. I believe that the primary bad decision in the entire war was the decision to simply disband dis·band v. dis·band·ed, dis·band·ing, dis·bands v.tr. To dissolve the organization of (a corporation, for example). v.intr. 1. the Republican Guard yet leave them fully armed! That action guaranteed that we would be faced with a significant insurgency in·sur·gen·cy n. pl. in·sur·gen·cies 1. The quality or circumstance of being rebellious. 2. An instance of rebellion; an insurgence. insurgency, insurgence 1. and the loss of life that goes with it. This blunder was little-covered by the media. I also disagree with Verb 1. disagree with - not be very easily digestible; "Spicy food disagrees with some people" hurt - give trouble or pain to; "This exercise will hurt your back" Livesay. He is kidding himself if he thinks the Iraqi people will stand for a Western-style democracy. They would have to accept new roles for women in their society, and they will never do that.
