PLRA Prison Litigation Reform Act of 1995
 -- Prison Litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. The act or process of bringing a lawsuit in and of itself; a judicial contest; any dispute.

When a person begins a civil lawsuit, the person enters into a process called litigation.

The prisoner asked to be allowed to pay the amount due no later than six months after his release from prison. The district court denied the motion, finding that the Prison Litigation Reform Act (PLRA) required the prisoner to pay the filing fee in monthly installments of 20 percent of the preceding month's income credited to his prison account.
