Ionizing irradiation.Researchers are determining the efficacy of ionizing irradiation irradiation /ir·ra·di·a·tion/ (i-ra?de-a´shun) 1. radiotherapy. 2. the dispersion of nervous impulse beyond the normal path of conduction. 3. and processing variables to see how well they are able to inactivate in·ac·ti·vate v. 1. To render nonfunctional. 2. To make quiescent. in·ac ti·va pathogens, specifically on meat and poultry products. They are
identifying possible interactions between ionizing irradiation and other
processing technologies. Their goal with this intervention strategy is
to maximize the quality of irradiated foods. The effects of irradiation
treatments on quality will be evaluated by examining product sensorial sensorial /sen·so·ri·al/ (sen-sor´e-al) pertaining to the sensorium. sen·so·ri·al adj.
