Ion Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of electrostatics management solutions, today announced the appointment of Ted Dangelmayer to director of technology and program design, and Leo G. Henry, Ph.D. to senior scientist. Both will be strengthening Ion Strategic Resources Group (SRG), which is the company's electrostatics consulting arm. SRG allows customers to outsource their electrostatics management programs in order to maximize the operating potential of their manufacturing facilities. Mr. Dangelmayer and Dr. Henry will be a part of the design and implementation of high quality electrostatics management programs for Ion's global customers. Both report to Jim Suffoletta, director of Ion Strategic Resources Group.

Ted Dangelmayer, Director of Technology and Program Design

Mr. Dangelmayer brings over 23 years of experience developing and managing a global ESD program for Lucent Technologies (LU), including leading the company's Merrimack Valley, Mass. facility, to be the first U.S. company certified to ANSI ESD S20.20-1999 certification in January 2001. He published the second edition of his book "ESD Program Management" in 1999 and was granted two patents regarding high reliability wrist straps. Mr. Dangelmayer was president of the ESD association in 1989 and is currently a member of the ESD Association's national education committee, speaker's bureau, local chapters committee, academic outreach, ESDA fellow and corporate membership committee. He is also president of the Northeast chapter of the ESD Association. Mr. Dangelmayer received his B.S. in electronic engineering from the University of Maine.

Leo G. Henry, Ph.D., Senior Scientist

Dr. Henry brings 18 years of experience in ESD testing and analysis to Ion. Prior to joining Ion, he was an ESD/TLP consultant to BEI, Inc. and served as a product manager for ESD/LUP products at ORYX Corporation. He also spent 15 years at Advanced Micro Devices as part of the technical staff responsible for ESD, EOS and latchup issues and testing. Dr. Henry has been teaching the principles of ESD and EOS for testing and failure analysis since 1992 at various symposiums and universities. Dr. Henry is a member of the ESD Association's board of directors, Silicon Valley EOS.ESD Society, International Disk Drive and Materials Association (IDEMA) and IEE, ASM/EDFAS, CSPE and NSPE. Dr. Henry received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in physics from the University of the West Indies, Caribbean. He also holds a M.S. and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
