Ion Implant Services Names Dr. Peter H. Rose to Board of Directors.

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1997--Ion Implant Services, the nation's oldest and largest provider of outsourced ion implant services for semiconductor manufacturers, has named Peter H. Rose to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Rose is a successful entrepreneur, a leading expert in atomic and ion accelerator physics, and a pioneer in ion implantation for semiconductor manufacturing. In 1996, Rose received the National Medal of Technology from President Bill Clinton in recognition of his significant accomplishments and contribution to the semiconductor industry.

In 1971, Rose founded Extrion Corporation, which became the world's leading implantation company and was acquired by Varian Associates. In 1978, Rose left Varian and founded Nova Associates, which became the dominant supplier of high-current ion implantation equipment and is now a major division of Eaton Corporation. Rose also served as president of Ion Microfabrication Systems, a pioneer in ion projection lithography. Rose began his career at High Voltage Engineering Corporation in 1956 and served as president of Ion Physics Corporation, a subsidiary.

Rose presently is the founder and chairman of Krytek Corporation (Danvers, MA), a company that develops and manufactures equipment for cleaning semiconductor wafers using dry processes.
