Iomega Introduces Innovative Products and New Services Targeted At Corporate Enterprise Users; Company Announces It Will Enter the Optical Storage Market.

Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM) today announced it will enter the optical storage market and plans to introduce a new product, the ZipCD(TM) drive, which is expected to begin shipping later this year.

The ZipCD drive is the newest member to Iomega's leading line of smart, portable storage solutions, which includes the popular Zip(R), Jaz(R) and Clik!(TM) drives and disks. Iomega also unveiled a major initiative to address the specific data storage needs of PC users in the corporate or "enterprise" environment.

Enterprise Solutions

The number of mobile PC users continues to skyrocket as more employees telecommute or travel for business. This has resulted in a major increase in data created on desktops and laptops, which in turn creates a critical need for smart, portable storage solutions to protect, share and access data any time, anywhere.

Daimler Chrysler Corporation has taken advantage of Iomega's solutions for the enterprise.

ZipCD(TM)

The ZipCD drive allows users to store up to 650MB of data, multi-media presentations, Internet content, photos from their digital cameras, and original video or audio creations. This is the first product that will be released by Iomega's new Optical Division, based in Longmont, Colorado, which is dedicated to researching, developing and marketing optical storage solutions.
