Invitrogen Continues Distribution of Products Despite Fires.

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Invitrogen Corporation (NASDAQ:IVGN) announced today that it continues to ship products to customers and maintain global supply chain operations despite a series of wildfires near its headquarters in San Diego County. While the Carlsbad facility is closed to the majority of Invitrogen employees, distribution personnel continue to work from that site. In addition, regular distribution continues from the company's east coast United States location in Frederick, Maryland and other warehousing sites around the world.

"Our priority continues to be the safety and well-being of our employees and their families, many of whom live in areas in San Diego County that have been evacuated," said Greg Lucier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Invitrogen. "From a business perspective, we have sound business continuity plans in place and are attempting to maintain business operations as close to normal as possible. We expect the majority of our domestic and international orders to be filled through the efforts of personnel from various global distribution sites."

Invitrogen's United States customer service representatives are located at the company's facility in Grand Island, New York and have not been affected by the fires. In addition, technical service calls are being rerouted to other Invitrogen locations.
