Invite to war veterans; GREAT BARR.

VETERANS from Great Barr Coordinates:

Great Barr is a large and loosely-defined area which straddles the boundaries of Birmingham, West Bromwich (Sandwell; including the Great Barr with Yew Tree Ward) and Walsall, West Midlands, England.
 and Hamstead are being invited to lead this year's Sandwell St George's Day St. George's Day is celebrated by several nations of whom Saint George is the patron saint, including England, Portugal, Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Macedonia and the Gora. For England, St. George's Day also marks its National Day.  parade on Sunday.

The event is one of Britain's biggest St George's Day celebrations, with a two mile parade from Stone Cross to a family fun event in the park.

Parade organiser Mark Cowles from the Stone Cross St George's Association, said: "We would really appreciate if veterans would do us the honour and lead us into the park."

"Once again the British Legion will be taking part in the celebrations and we'd like to extend the invitation to any servicemen and women, both past and present, to join in.

"Anyone who may not wish to cover the whole route is very welcome to meet the parade outside the park's main gates around 11.30am and then lead us into the showground."
