The contract award follows the successful implementation of Foxboro I/A Series systems on LNG Trains #4, 5, and 6 (MLNG Dua), also built by JGC/KBR/Sime Engineering Joint Venture; and the rehabilitation of LNG Trains #1, 2, and 3 (MLNG Satu) with the I/A Series system in a separate contract directly with MLNG.
As PCSI, Foxboro (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd assumes the responsibility for the management and coordination of all activities related to the integration, operability, functionality and integrated testing of all process control systems for the plant. Key PCSI systems will be staged and tested as a fully integrated configuration prior to delivery to site at the end of next year.
The Triconex systems to be implemented in Malaysia by Tri Systems Sdn Bhd will provide triple modular redundant (TMR TMR
total mixed ration.

A completely independent network of I/A Series systems and Triconex TMR systems will be implemented to provide fire and gas detection and alarming for the entire MLNG Tiga plant.
The responsibility as PCSI includes delivering fiber optic networks for the entire site including the Control Network, Fire and Gas Network, Electrical Systems Network, Telecommunications, and CCTV CCTV
CCTV closed-circuit television .
Support for the new automation and safety systems will be provided from Foxboro and Triconex local organizations in Malaysia, with remote support provided out of Foxboro and Triconex Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
After the start up of both LNG Trains #7 & 8 by February 2004, Malaysia LNG Complex, Bintulu, with a total of eight LNG Trains in operation, will be the world's largest LNG production facility. With the award of this contract to Foxboro, more than half of the fifty LNG Trains in operation worldwide will be under Foxboro I/A Series system control.
