(Nasdaq: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that Intuit Inc. has licensed the ScanSoft[R] OmniPage[R] Capture SDK to develop a new product, Source Doc Auto-Entry, which automates the conversion of paper tax forms into data for Intuit[R] Lacerte[R] and ProSeries[R] tax preparation software solutions. The new solution helps eliminate the need to manually enter data, saving valuable time and reducing the number of errors.

Source Doc Auto-Entry, an add-on solution to Intuit's tax preparation software solutions, uses the simplified scanning interfaces and highly accurate optical character recognition (OCR) in the ScanSoft OmniPage Capture SDK to replace manual data entry with automated processing for standardized tax forms, including W-2s, 1099-INTs and 1099-DIVs. Compatible with any TWAIN-compliant scanner and all-in-one, Source Doc Auto-Entry extracts data from forms and automatically transfers the data directly into appropriate electronic fields within Intuit Lacerte and ProSeries.
