Intuicom, Inc., a leader in Global Positioning (GPS)-enhanced wireless data networks, today announced the release of its SmartGPS Tracker(TM), an advanced transceiver that combines real-time GPS positioning with wireless data transmission in a small, dependable, cost-effective unit.

Specifically developed for critical tracking applications, SmartGPS Tracker(TM) provides a higher-capability alternative to cellular for "always on" transportation, automation, precision monitoring and other remote or mobile data applications.

Unlike cellular data communications, which competes with voice for network availability, and requires an expensive repeated sequence of dial, transmission and disconnect, Intuicom provides an "always on" private wireless network that enables real-time bi-directional data flows and is never held up by the busy problems typical to cellular communications. In addition to its superior performance capabilities, the SmartGPS Tracker provides higher bandwidth and requires no activation or ongoing monthly fees -- making it more cost effective as well.

Built upon a FreeWave Technologies RF Transceiver, the SmartGPS Tracker(TM) transmits data using license-free 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz spread spectrum technology to typical distances of twenty miles (32km) with full duplex data rates as high as 115.2 kbps. It utilizes an integrated GPS receiver with an uncorrected derived location range from 5-10 meters and 1-5 meter Circular Error Probability relative locations using standard DGPS corrections. The unit is field hardened and able to handle challenging conditions and temperature ranges from -40c to +75c and is available immediately.
