CCNA discovery learning guide
This two-volume book/CD-ROM set is the official supplemental textbook for the course, Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise, in the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA Discovery curriculum version 4. The book supplements the online course content with expanded coverage of CCNA exam material, additional glossary terms, bonus labs, and additional activities. The first book of the two-volume set covers equipment applications and protocols installed in enterprise networks, with a focus on switched networks, IP telephony requirements, and security. It also introduces advanced routing protocols such as the Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing protocol and the Open Shortest Path First protocol. Learning features include chapter objectives, key terms, quizzes, questions, and activities. The second book of the set contains 44 labs, 4 additional challenge labs, and an appendix on lab equipment interfaces and initial configuration restoration, with space for answers and notes. The CD- ROM contains about 60 activities, plus files for Packet Tracer exercises (Packet Tracer software is not included). It also offers IT career information and links to lifelong learning in networking. Reid is a CCNA/CCNP instructor at the Centennial College CATC in Toronto.
