, and additional service and communication capabilities required for evolving emergency communications.

Increased mobility, wireless technologies, and changes in the carrier environment have strained today's 9-1-1 infrastructure. Intrado is helping to address these issues by working with current 9-1-1 customers, government agencies and the public safety industry to transition from the existing 9-1-1 system with its limited change capacity to an environment that can easily and cost-effectively integrate new technologies and offer enhanced public safety applications.

The Intrado IEN is a pervasive, open architecture that provides core 9-1-1 services, supports legacy equipment and facilitates the delivery of new services to public safety answering points, emergency responders and carriers. It has the broad technical scope to meet the challenges of extended communications for years to come and provides a marketplace for new, rich services subscribers are demanding.

Intrado will roll out the IEN with a secured and managed private Internet Protocol See Internet and TCP/IP.

Meer will be speaking about "The Role of the 9-1-1 Service Provider in the 21st Century," which includes discussion of the networks and infrastructure required to support the future of 9-1-1, at the National Emergency Number Association conference June 15th in Tampa, Florida “Tampa” redirects here.
