ActiveForum 2.0 allows large corporations and Dotcom businesses to create vibrant communities and incorporate message boards within workgroups on Windows 95/98 and large scale communities on Windows 2000.

Since Iasoft.com unveiled ActiveForum 2.0 for Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. , three weeks ago, there have been more than 10,000 new downloads of the free software (http://www.iasoft.com/activeforum).

With ActiveForum 2.0, business and project-based threaded discussion forums are quick and easy to integrate into Internet and Intranet sites. Groupware capabilities include threading, HTML-in-messages, search, auto-login, message alerts, dynamic message tagging, import/export and file attachments with file upload. ActiveForum supports open Internet standards, and is the first forum product based on state-of-the art software component technologies. It is also the first and only forum product that takes advantage of Windows DNA architecture. For example developers can use standard scripting languages, such as VBScript and JavaScript, to build ActiveForum applications.

"We're excited to extend ActiveForum to the millions of Windows 95/98 users and to large corporations planning to deploy Windows 2000. The download response clearly indicates the need for our product, and its open architecture allows us to support these additional platforms," says Gorelov. "ActiveForum provides critical messaging and workgroup functionality for e-businesses of all sizes," explains Gorelov.

The COM components take advantage of the advanced object management and transaction services provided by Microsoft Transaction Server A TP monitor for Windows NT servers from Microsoft that supports transaction-based applications on LANs, the Internet and intranets. Unlike other products which force developers to use proprietary languages and "templates", ActiveForum takes a fundamentally different approach: It makes available all of the data and functionality of a community, giving developers full control over every aspect of the user interface and HTML HTML

The out-of-the-box, high performance solution is also the only forum product that gives developers complete freedom in controlling the look and feel of the site. This enables developers to leverage the distinct visual identity of their web sites in their discussion forums.
