Business Editors

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2000

The job market for skilled, knowledgeable workers and engineers is so tight that some companies are offering royal treatment incentives to attract new employees.

During a recent interview with CEOLive.com, Martin Brauns, chief executive officer of Interwoven in·ter·weave

 (Nasdaq:IWOV), a leading content management software provider, discussed the company's strategy of offering new BMW Z3s to any engineer joining the company.

&uot;Attracting good people is difficult. We are growing very, very rapidly. We're focused on ramping our hiring in the engineering group. So to attract new talent, we're offering two-year leases on new BMW Z3s,&uot; stated Brauns. &uot;They're very cool cars. I just test drove one, and they are awesome machines.&uot;

During the interview, Brauns also discussed the growing need for its content management applications with CEOLive.com host Marc Holland.

&uot;One of the biggest unforeseen problems facing many eBusiness enterprises is how to manage the massive volume of Web content,&uot; said Holland. &uot;I invited Martin on the show to help our listeners get a handle on this complex problem.&uot;

For many corporations, it is still a manual process, with lots of shouting across cubical cu·bi·cal
adj.
1. Cubic.

2. Of or relating to volume.

 walls back and forth.

&uot;Today,&uot; said Brauns, &uot;things like price changes, press releases and other critical material need to flow through an approval routing process inside the corporation. That's where Interwoven comes in.&uot;

&uot;The typical Web site contains hundreds of thousands of files,&uot; said Holland. &uot;And the need to organize work and communications flow is critical. Today, to compete in the digital age, companies better have a strong application in place.&uot;

Many companies including E-trade (Nasdaq:EGRP EGRP E*Trade Group, Inc. (stock abbreviation, AMEX) ), E-bay (Nasdaq:EBAY), General Electric (NYSE NYSE

See: New York Stock Exchange
:GE), Ask Jeeves (Nasdaq:ASKJ), Petopia, LookSmart (Nasdaq:LOOK) and Alta Vista have turned to Interwoven. Brauns seems most proud of his relationship with CISCO (Nasdaq:CSCO CSCO Cisco Systems Incorporated (stock symbol)
CSCO Chief Supply Chain Officer
).

&uot;Cisco has 13 million files under management with our team site product,&uot; said Brauns. &uot;They use team site to connect over 2,000 different contributors across the enterprise, and empower knowledgeable workers to contribute content into the system.&uot;

During the interview, Braun also discussed the future.

&uot;Web content will actually become more and more the centerpiece, the core corporate asset. Content will not only feed the Web per se, but you'll see content pushed into palm pilots, cell phones and pagers. Content is the driver.&uot;
