Interwise Reports Record Use of VoIP Conferencing Minutes in 2005; 140 Million VoIP Minutes Represents 40 Percent Growth over 2004.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Interwise(R) Inc., a global leader in enterprise conferencing solutions, today reported that customer demand for IP-based conferencing has risen dramatically over the past year and that enterprises are increasingly asking for a single, integrated solution for voice, Web, and video conferencing See videoconferencing.

(communications) video conferencing - A discussion between two or more groups of people who are in different places but can see and hear each other using electronic communications.
. In 2005, Interwise customers increased their use of telephone and Web conferencing A videoconferencing session via the Internet. In order to interact with other participants, attendees use either a Web application or an application downloaded into their client machines.  to a record 140 million VoIP minutes--a 40% increase over 2004. The need for communications tools that can unify global business organizations both internally and externally has underscored the value of Interwise's fixed price, unlimited usage business model for voice, Web and video conferencing.

In 2005, Interwise launched a major disruption to the legacy approach of buying and using point conferencing tools. Seeing the need for a more effective and economical alternative to the high costs of per-minute conferencing, Interwise integrated regular (TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission. ) voice conferencing (essential for ensuring access by mobile professionals) with IP-based Web and video conferencing (accessible by office workers) into a single, highly-scalable IP-based, software platform that integrates with, and leverages the bandwidth of, customers' own IT infrastructures. The move forced new pricing and usage models throughout the industry while raising the bar for conferencing technology and infrastructure integration.

The dramatic increase in conferencing usage during 2005 reflects the market acceptance of Interwise's vision and in particular, Interwise's effectiveness in winning "wall-to-wall" deals for corporate deployments of 1000 users or more in which companies are giving conferencing to all knowledge workers in the organization, like email. Global companies with a strategic or operational need to unify teams led in the deployment of wall-to-wall integrated voice plus Web conferencing. Use of integrated telephony minutes tripled, as part of this.

"The need for more effective and efficient communications between all employees, no matter where they are located, is a primary driver for the IP conferencing market," said Jeffrey Mann, Research Vice President for Gartner. "As enterprises seek technologies that enable a high performance workplace, Web conferencing solutions that incorporate rich collaboration, including full data, audio and video functionality, will benefit from this demand."

Interwise is paving the way for companies to deploy and use IP conferencing as freely as email by:

--Cutting legacy conferencing costs in half with its fixed price/unlimited usage business model;

--Enabling customers to give the benefits of conferencing and collaboration to everyone in their organization without killing their budget or their network;

--Delivering a single, standard solution that meets the conferencing and collaboration needs of all business groups;

--Meeting IT requirements for scalability, performance, security, integration and administration;

--Combining the security, integration and cost advantages of on-site deployment with the rapid rollout, global reach, and overflow/failover protection of a hosted service--in one blended deployment model;

--Unifying voice, Web, and video conferencing in a single platform that aligns with corporate VoIP strategies while leveraging their existing TDM investments.

"These growth figures validate our strategy," said Frank Zvi, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  for Interwise. "The need for rich, economical communications is building as customers look for more ways to interact with their far-flung colleagues, teams, customers and partners. Users are consistently enjoying the experience while they become more productive. Our solution delivers fast ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  because there is no requirement to overhaul customers' infrastructure or purchase IP phones. It is a win on every front."
